Are you an artist?"" I'm a mess is what I am, " he says, holding on to the building for support. "A bloody mess. You 're the artist, mate." Then he's gone.

About This Quote

After a long day of work, an artist and his friend head out for a drink. For the artist, the day has been incredibly stressful and he has had little time to relax or unwind. When he arrives at the bar, he is greeted by a friend and they head inside. However, when he looks back outside, he sees a man who appears to be having a seizure on the ground.

The artist rushes out to help and finds that the man is unresponsive and his heart is not beating. "Are you an artist?" the artist asks him as he kneels down to get a pulse. This question is very important because it reveals the true nature of the person who is lying on the ground.

If he says yes, then his friend would know that he was unwell and could call an ambulance. If he says no, then his friend would know that this person was a complete stranger in need of help.
